NEW RICHMOND – Mrs. Pearl E. Lyon, 89, Rt. 1, New Richmond, died Sunday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville, where she had been admitted Feb 5. She was a member of Center Christian Church north of Elmdale and of the Round Hill Community Ladies’ Aid. Mrs. Lyon was educated in the Elmdale community. She was born Sept. 28, 1883, near Wingate, the daughter of Jonathan and Nannie Wilson Mitchell. She married William James Lyon on May 11, 1904. He preceded her in death in June, 1960. Mr. and Mrs. Lyon farmed for many years, and she lived on a farm 3½ miles south of New Richmond for the last 54 years. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Ethel Lyon; a sister, Mrs. Opal Bunnell of Waynetown; two grandsons, William Robert of Crawfordsville and Stanley Eugen of Wingate; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers and four sisters. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown, with Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. Burial will be in the New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
